Be Their Light

July 8, 2022

Read

1 Corinthians 9:22-23, "When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share the blessings."

Think

Jesus was a friend to sinners; He ate with them, talked with them, and even shared homes with them. He met them where they stood and shared the Gospel on their turf, where they were comfortable learning. That's what He's called us to do, too.

The Bible calls us to live like Jesus. He didn’t join them in their sin, but He was a light for people in the darkness. Going out of our way and getting comfortably uncomfortable so we can share the Gospel with the lost, just like Jesus did, is why we're here! That's evangelism!

Who are you sharing the light of Jesus with? Are you going where the weak and lost are? Start using your gifts, talents, hobbies, and circles to connect with people for Christ. God has given you these things to put you in the position to reach people for Him

Act

Take an index card and write three names of people you know who are lost. They can be from any area of your life. Make it a point to connect with them over this next week. Pray over them and extend an invitation to church. Keep this card somewhere that you'll look at throughout the day so you can be reminded to keep them in mind!

Pray

God, give me the strength and wisdom to do Your work. Show me the people I need to be reaching and take me to the places I need to reach them. In Jesus' name, Amen.
