Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”

Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the LORD, And He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Think

Every day we audition for a role in the story of life. We are striving to earn the spotlight on center stage. We rate our performance by the applause we receive, how many people are watching, and whether we had a flawless execution. But what if the role we are supposed to play is a supporting part in a much bigger story – a story that features Jesus in the starring role?

We spend so much time caught up in perfecting our performance that we often forget to recognize the One who gave us the role in the first place. Our purpose in life is not to make ourselves famous, but to make God famous. We do that by making Him a priority and making Him known to others.

As we build and strengthen our relationship with God by praying, reading His Word, and aligning our actions with His truth, we recognize God at work in every area. And once we start to see Him in everything, He becomes our everything. And when He is our end-all, be-all, sharing Him with others becomes natural. Our God is awesome, and we should joyfully boast about it! When we do, He will bless our lives and the lives of those around us.

Act

When you take a step back and look at your life, who are you giving credit to? Take a moment and answer these questions honestly:

· Do my posts on social media point others to God?

· Do my words reflect God’s attitude and heart?

· Do I honor God by the way I carry out my job?

· Does the way I treat people bring glory to God?

Then, take action! What is one thing you can do today to make His name known?

Pray

God, thank You for the role You’ve given me in Your great redemption story. Guide me in my words and actions as I tell others about You and what You have done in my life. Place people around me to hold me accountable when my focus starts to drift from praising Your name to praising my own. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
