Unlock the Creative Block

Read
Isaiah 43:18-19, “But the Lord says, ‘Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already — you can see it now!’”
Think
Whether it’s caused by the monotony of life, stress, or just plain lack of inspiration, there are times when creative block rears its head and paralyzes our desire for innovation. What do you do when you catch yourself saying the same things, feeling bored, and going nowhere in some aspect of your life? The best place to start is by focusing on the bottom line: What is it that you want to use your creativity to accomplish?Concentrating on the bottom line in your relationships, career, or other endeavors means pushing past the monotony of the mundane by asking and defining your primary objective. What does it mean to put the ball through the net relationally? What does it mean to score in your career? What does it mean to make that lifelong dream a reality? Answer those questions, and you will start to unlock your creative block. As you define your bottom line, don’t let finances or challenges limit your imagination. Creativity is not about how much money you have. When you learn to stretch a dollar, you stretch your imagination. If God is for you, and what you’re seeking to do is within His will, what’s to stop you? Some of the most creative people and organizations started out with limited resources because they focused on the bottom line — their main objective — and made it happen. What they possess are ideas and ideas are free!
Act
Write down that bottom line of what you want to accomplish and then brainstorm ideas as to how to make it a reality. Ask God to give you the wisdom to choose the best ideas. Put those ideas into action.
Pray
Dear God, I thank You that You want to do a new thing in my life. I feel stuck and in need of some fresh creativity. Help me clarify the bottom line of what I want to accomplish and give me the wisdom to see and choose ideas that will help me move forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
