Think
Deuteronomy 13:1-4, “If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, ‘Let us follow other gods (gods you have not known) and let us worship them,’ you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and Him you must revere. Keep His commands and obey him; serve Him and hold fast to Him.”Picture an empty plastic bag caught up in the wind. It’s pushed this way and that by the air around it, not grounded by anything or serving any purpose. When we float along in life, persuaded to believe anything and everything by the person in front of us, we are similar to that bag. Perhaps we are flying high one moment, convinced of something spectacular. But the next moment, we’re just as likely to smash to the ground because what we thought was true falls flat in the face of reality. There is only one God! He is our Rock in a world of ever-shifting beliefs, thoughts, and theories. Follow Him, hold fast to Him, and whatever comes your way, He will faithfully be there with you through it all. Where is the wind of the world trying to blow you today? Stand firm in Christ — do not be swayed!

Pray
Lord, Sometimes I feel that I’m dealing with hurricane-force winds in my life. I want my feet to stay rooted in Your Word, but I feel swayed by everything going on around me. Forgive me for turning to anything besides You. You alone are my Rock and my Salvation! Help me, day by day, to follow You and glorify You — faithfully and obediently! Amen.
