Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Think

Life’s storms come without warning—a diagnosis, a financial struggle, a relationship breaking apart. In those moments, it’s easy to feel like you’re being tossed by waves with no solid ground in sight. But Proverbs 3:5-6 whispers a lifeline: Trust in the Lord. Let him be your anchor.

Trusting God with all your heart isn’t easy. It’s scary to let go of your grip on control, to release the weight of “figuring it all out” on your own. But trust isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about placing your confidence in the One who does. To trust God fully means believing that he is steady when you’re not, strong when you’re weak, and faithful even when everything else feels uncertain.

This verse calls us to stop leaning on our own understanding. How often do we wrestle with decisions, overthinking every detail, trying to make sense of what feels senseless? God invites us to surrender that exhausting cycle to him. He doesn’t promise to explain every storm, but he does promise to guide us through it.

Trust is "a conscious, unwavering dependence on God." It’s choosing to anchor yourself in his promises rather than your fears. When you submit your life to him—your plans, your worries, your heartbreak—he will make your path straight. That doesn’t mean the road will be smooth, but it means Jesus will walk with you, leading you step by step toward his purpose.

What storm are you facing right now? Picture yourself dropping anchor into God’s truth. Let him hold you steady as the winds rage. You can trust him, even when you don’t understand the way forward. He is your anchor; he will not let go and he does not move.
