Think

What is a UPG? It's an acronym for Unreached People Group. These are people who are unengaged – meaning no church, missionary, or mission agency has taken responsibility to tell them about Jesus Christ. Astonishingly, out of the 8 billion people alive today, 3.4 billion live in unreached groups with little or no access to the Gospel. This stark reality highlights a massive gap in our mission efforts and calls us to action.

In the U.S., there's a different kind of mission field emerging. When Americans are asked about their religious affiliation, 28% now check “none.” This group, referred to as the "Nones," includes atheists, agnostics, and those who say their religion is "nothing in particular." They're now the largest religious cohort in America, surpassing both Catholics and evangelical Protestants. This dramatic rise from 16% in 2007 to 28% today underscores a growing spiritual void that needs to be addressed.

The Great Commission is a powerful mandate from Jesus, second only to the command to be born again. When Jesus said, "Go into all the world," it wasn't just about traveling to distant lands. It means, "as you are going" about your daily life, be a witness. Authentic believers living out their faith in real-life situations make a profound impact. Phony piety and pretending to be without flaws can turn people away from the gospel. We must be honest about our struggles and let others see how Jesus makes a difference in our lives despite them.

Life can be incredibly busy, filled with responsibilities and distractions. It's easy to forget the central command of our faith: to share the Good News of Jesus with everyone. The world is lost, hurting, and searching for answers. As believers, we hold the truth and hope that the world desperately needs. The Great Commission isn't just a historical command; it's a living, breathing mission for every believer today. We are called to share Jesus's story, love, and generous offer of salvation with the world, continuing the mission that started with the disciples and now rests with us.

Apply

Integrate sharing the gospel into your daily routine. Whether it's at work, in your neighborhood, or through social media, look for opportunities to share the hope of Jesus with others. Make it a habit to talk about Jesus with others.

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank you for the incredible gift of salvation. Help me to understand the urgency of reaching those around me who do not know you. Guide me and give me the boldness to prioritize the Great Commission in my busy life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
