2 Corinthians 9:6-7 "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
Think
What if your giving could change someone’s life—and yours? Generosity isn’t just about meeting needs; it’s about stepping into a purpose bigger than yourself. When we give, we reflect the heart of God, who has given us everything we need and more. True generosity transforms both the giver and the receiver, creating ripples of hope and restoration far beyond what we can see.
C.S. Lewis once said, “Every faculty you have, your power of thinking or of moving your limbs from moment to moment, is given you by God.” Everything we have—our time, abilities, and resources—is a gift from him. When we give, we’re not losing something; we’re offering back what God has entrusted to us, trusting him to use it for his greater purpose.
Generosity is also a declaration of trust. NT Wright explains that giving with joy and confidence demonstrates our belief in God’s abundance rather than the world’s scarcity. Instead of clinging to what we have, we open our hands and hearts, allowing God to work through us to bring healing and hope to others. Every act of giving is an opportunity to reflect the love of Christ, the ultimate giver, and to experience the joy of his provision.
Generosity isn’t just something we do; it’s who we’re called to be. When we give with purpose and joy, we reflect the heart of a God who gave everything to rescue and restore us.
Apply
Pray and ask God to show you the role and commitment he is calling you to make in investing in the next generation through the Anchor Center. If you’re not part of Fellowship Church, consider how you can commit to your church. What can you offer back to God for him to use in reaching others?
Pray
Lord, thank you for the resources, time, and talents you have entrusted to me. Show me how I can use them to reflect you and invest in the next generation or those around me who need hope. Help me to give with joy and purpose, trusting that you will use my gifts to make an eternal impact. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
