Luke 16:11 "So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?"
Think
Did you know the average person will spend over 90,000 hours of their life working? That’s a third of your life spent earning money, accumulating resources, and striving for success. But here’s the question: What are you doing with what you’ve been given? In Luke 16:11, Jesus challenges us with this truth: “If you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” How we manage what God entrusts to us—our money, time, and talents—reveals not just our priorities, but the state of our hearts.
Charles Spurgeon said it well: “It is not how much we have, but how we use what we have that pleases God.” Wealth and resources are not wrong, but they are tools and tests. How we use them reveals whether we trust in God or in the fleeting security of what we own. Do we hoard out of fear? Spend selfishly for our own gain? Or do we manage them with open hands, seeing them as opportunities to advance his kingdom?
Consider the last time you gave freely. In that moment, you weren’t just doing something kind—you were stewarding what God had entrusted to you. Faithful stewardship is about more than managing resources; it’s about aligning your heart with God’s purposes. Jesus reminds us that faithfulness in worldly matters prepares us for “true riches”—for eternal impact.
What’s in your hands today? Whether it’s a little or a lot, God calls you to use it faithfully. Instead of clinging to what you have, trust the One who gave it to you. Live open-handedly, knowing that what you invest in his kingdom will never fade.

Review your budget. Look at your finances and identify one area where you can give generously or adjust your spending to prioritize God’s kingdom work.
Pray
Father, thank you for entrusting me with resources, time, and abilities to use for your glory. Help me to be a faithful steward, letting go of fear and trusting you to provide for my needs. Show me how to use what I have to bless others and invest in things that matter for eternity. May my life bring glory to your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
