Day 26: Treasure in Heaven, Part 3
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, you whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. - Matthew 6:19-24
When we lay up treasures in heaven by investing in the local church, we develop a healthy eye or the ability to see what matters most – changed lives in Jesus Christ. A healthy eye will then enable us to put God first as the one and only true master. God will reign and money will serve.
Caught in the trap of trying to serve two masters is a no-win situation. You will forever waver between being loyal to one and have contempt for the other. In a word, you will be double-minded. This is precisely why the 90 Day Challenge is so important. It is giving you the opportunity to lay up treasures in heaven resulting in a healthy eye that sees only one Master, God!
Thank God for a healthy eye that sees only one Master, God. Declare to God that He alone is your master and provider.
Reread Matthew 6:19-24. Continue to invite to Fellowship Church those individuals you know that are far from God.
