Day 29: Excel in Giving, Part 3
Now I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, what God in his kindness has done through the churches in Macedonia. They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will … since you (Corinthians) excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us —I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. - 2 Corinthians 8:1-3, 7
We all need examples or people who model Godly behaviors for us to observe and copy. This is what the churches of Macedonia did for the Corinthian church. They modeled generosity on a “whole nutha level.” They were an example for the Corinthians to observe and copy.
You may not know this, but your friends are watching you. As you continue in the 90-Day Challenge, not only are you learning how to be obedient with the financial resources God brings into your household, you are also becoming an example of the very same to those in your circle of friendships. Some of your friends have yet to take up this challenge and as such are watching you to see what happens. They will not be disappointed.
Thank God for the blessings that you are seeing as a result of bringing the tithe. Ask God to make those blessings obvious to those who are watching your life.
Be prepared to share with any, especially your friends, who ask how God has blessed your life as a result of the 90-Day Challenge. Choose one friend you know that is not tithing and share with them your experience.
