Training the Next Generation of Leaders in Uganda
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Ed Young and Fellowship Church's leadership program, Elevate, flies to Uganda.
Fellowship Church with Pastor Ed Young have joined with Christian Life Ministries to use Elevate’s E Leadership program to train up the next generation of leaders in Uganda
Grapevine, TX, June 29, 2012—
Elevate, Fellowship Church’s children’s leadership curriculum, is excited to announce that they are providing Eve Senyonga from Christian Life Ministries tools and curriculum to support children’s character training in a Ugandan orphanage this summer. As the country’s economy slows and HIV rates rise, the need for future leaders is great. According to UNICEF statistics, the percentage of children who attend primary school drops from an average of 82% of the population to 17% attendance in secondary school. Christian Life Ministries wants to change that.
“We want to partner with Christian Life Ministries in Uganda because we believe in what they are doing. We believe that every child can be a leader, no matter their age or background,” said Pastor Mike Johnson, Executive Producer of Elevate.
Elevate sent the E Leadership Program, complete with leadership videos, study questions and awards, to be used at the school orphanage run by the Christian Life Ministries (CLM). This school, unlike other orphanage schools, is also open to children in the community. The CLM currently provides schooling for over 900 Ugandan children. Children will watch the leadership videos during their morning assembly, and get the chance to put the leadership principles into practice throughout the week in their classrooms.
“I’m so excited for them to get this character training in their lives and develop them into leaders,” Senyonga said.
CLM’s vision is to transform these kids into the future leaders of Uganda. “When someone told us about this program developing the characteristics that we want these kids to have, we were so excited. This is what we’ve been looking for because we’ve been doing all the other things you should do for children, but have been having challenges developing their character. So this leadership program is going to help us achieve our goal,” said Eve Senyonga, Co-Founder of Christian Life Ministries and Orphan Director.
